Privacy Policy – Orbitrio

Last updated: 6 November 2026

This policy covers the Android game Orbitrio (package name de.timhaller.orbitrio), distributed through Google Play. It does not cover this website – for that, see the privacy policy of orbitrio.rellit.de.

1. Controller

The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

Tim Haller
Beethovenstraße 9
64347 Griesheim
Deutschland
Email: mail@timhaller.de

No data protection officer has been appointed; the statutory conditions for doing so are not met.

2. The short version

The game collects no personal data. There is no server, no user account, no sign-up and no login. No advertising, analytics or crash reporting SDK is embedded, and there are no in-app purchases.

The game requests not a single Android permission – not even internet access. Without that permission an Android app cannot open a network connection. So the game cannot transmit any data at all, neither to me nor to third parties; it works entirely offline.

Personal data arises solely through distribution via Google Play, and it does so at Google, under Google's own responsibility (section 6).

3. Data that never leaves your device

The game stores two files in its private app storage:

What is storedWhy
Settings (settings.cfg): music and sound effects volume (0–100 % each), chosen music track, chosen difficulty level and whether the guide has been shown onceso your choices are kept for the next start and the guide only opens by itself before the first game
Game history (history.json): for up to 100 games played, the score, the highest number reached, the number of moves, date and time the game ended, the difficulty level and whether the ring was full or the game was left earlyfor the highscores and the list of recent games in the game

That is all. A game in progress is not saved. Neither file ever leaves your device; they contain no name and no identifier, allow no conclusions about you as a person and cannot be read by other apps. They are deleted when you uninstall the game or clear its data in Android's settings.

The legal basis for storing them on your device is Section 25(2) No. 2 of the German TDDDG: the storage is strictly necessary for the game to keep the settings you chose and to show the highscores you open in the game. No consent is required for it.

Android's system backup does not capture the files either. The game is excluded from automatic cloud backup (allowBackup="false"). So your settings and highscores do not end up in a Google Drive backup merely because that option is on in the system.

4. Permissions

The game requests no permissions. In particular, not:

  • INTERNET – there is no network connection.
  • AD_ID – there is no advertising and no access to the advertising ID.
  • Location, contacts, camera, microphone, phone state, notifications.
  • Storage permissions – the game reads and writes only within its own app storage.

You can verify this yourself: in your phone's app details under “Permissions” and in the Play Store listing under “About this game”.

5. The link to this website

The “About” dialog in the menu contains a link to orbitrio.rellit.de. If you tap it, Android hands the address to your browser, and only your browser then loads the page – the game itself transmits nothing. Your visit to the website is covered by the website's privacy policy, in particular its section on server log files. If you do not tap the link, no connection takes place.

6. Distribution through Google Play

The game is distributed through Google Play. When you download, update and use the store, Google processes data under its own responsibility – such as your Google account, installation data and, if you have allowed this in Android's settings, the system's crash and diagnostic reports. I have no influence over that; Google's privacy terms apply.

Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland

In the Play Console I see aggregated statistics only, such as installations per country or device type and the number of crashes. I cannot draw conclusions about individual people from them. Reviews you post in the store are public and visible to me, as to everyone else, under your Google profile name.

7. What the game does not do

For clarity, because apps are often assumed to do otherwise:

  • No analytics tool is used – no Firebase Analytics, no Google Analytics, no comparable SDK.
  • No crash reporting service such as Crashlytics is integrated.
  • No advertising is shown and no advertising ID is read.
  • There are no in-app purchases and no Google Play services in the game.
  • There is no user account, no registration, no login.
  • There are no online features: no online leaderboard, no chat, no network play. The game's highscores stay on your device.
  • How often, how long or how well you play is not transmitted to me or to anyone else – the game history from section 3 stays on your device.
  • No data is passed on or sold to third parties.

8. Retention

Settings and game history remain on your device until you uninstall the game or clear its data; of the history the game keeps at most the last 100 games (the highscores of each level are never pushed out). There is no storage on my side. For data arising at Google in connection with the store, Google's own retention periods apply.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights: access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection to processing (Art. 21).

One practical note: since I store no personal data about you, I can neither provide information about you nor delete anything – there simply is nothing on file. You delete the settings and game history by uninstalling the game or clearing its data. For data arising at Google in connection with store use, please address your request to Google directly.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority of your place of residence is competent, as is the one responsible for me:

Der Hessische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit
Gustav-Stresemann-Ring 1
65189 Wiesbaden, Germany
Phone: +49 611 1408-0
Email: poststelle@datenschutz.hessen.de
Web: datenschutz.hessen.de

10. Children

The game collects no personal data from anyone – children included. It contains no advertising, no purchases, no online or chat features and no outbound link other than the one reference to this website in the “About” dialog (section 5).

11. Changes to this policy

This policy is updated whenever the game or the legal situation changes – for a new feature that processes data, before that version reaches the store. The current version is always available at this address. The “last updated” date above shows when something last changed.
